MediKredit is responsible for the management and maintenance of the NAPPI^® file, subject to the governing authority of the NAPPI^® Advisory Board (NAB).

The NAB establishes policies regarding the allocation of NAPPI^® codes.

The Board consists of industry stakeholders such as:

• Medical schemes and administrators
• Private hospital groups
• The Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF)
• The South African Medical Association (SAMA)
• The South African Dental Association (SADA)
• The South African Medical Device Industry Association (SAMED)
• Pharmaceutical benefit managers (PBM)

Decisions pertaining to NAPPI^® policies are made by the NAB and not by MediKredit. This ensures the protection of the interests of all stakeholders using NAPPI^® codes.
